What is cupping ?
Cupping is a form of therapy that has been around for thousands of years. It can help alleviate muscle pain and soreness, relieve lung congestion and even help the body naturally detox.
Cupping is a technique that uses small cups as suction devices that are placed on the skin to disperse and break up stagnation in that area.
does cupping hurt?
It doesn’t hurt but feels kind of strange – like a reverse deep tissue massage!
BEFORE A CUPPING TREATMENT
Eat something light
Be prepared for cupping marks, which may last up to 3 weeks but usually resolve in one.
AFTER A CUPPING TREATMENT
Drink lots of water – your body is detoxing and you want to help clear the toxins out quickly and efficiently.
Keep the area warm and covered.
Avoid alcohol for 48 hours after the session.
Avoid showering/bathing until the next day after your session.
