What is Electro-acupuncture?
Although Electro-Acupuncture (also referred to as e-stim) isn’t the first plan of action, it can be very helpful and useful in more stubborn cases, especially with muscle pain and tightness, to help the muscle relax. It is also effective for Bell’s Palsy/Facial Paralysis as well as Scar Therapy. During an acupuncture treatment, if it is deemed appropriate we will add Electro-Acupuncture to the treatment. To do this, we attach small electrode clips to acupuncture needles which generates a small electrical impulse – the intensity of which we adjust accordingly.
Does Electro-acupuncture Hurt?
It is not painful, but rather feels like a mild tapping sensation.
